Last night our 7th and 8th grade NBJH band students spent time with the GBN Marching Spartans. They got a chance to jump in and learn a few sets from this year's show, and see GBN perform the entire show at the end of the evening.
What a great experience! It was really an eye-opener to truly experience how marching band works.
One part of the marching band that our students didn't try directly was the colorguard. The marching band colorguard adds to the visual aspect of the show, using dance and equipment skills to raise the performance level.
For a fresh, fun perspective on the colorguard, check out the video below. It shows the colorguard staff from the Music for All Summer Symposium (a band camp for high school students) utilizing a unique intersection on the Ball State University campus to stage an impromptu "performance".
Enjoy!
